We’ve just had a fantastic visit to the caves with our guide, Terry.
We learnt about the animals who used to live in the cave… and the bones and teeth they left behind.
And we found out about how the caves were formed. Some parts are over 400 million years old. Some stalactites are over 4 minutes old! But the ones that are 30cm long took 1000 years to be created by the limestone dripping through from rainy days above… just like today.
Kents cavern and Paignton zoo remind me of when i went last year . I wish I could go there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goodness. Can’t even imagine that you were standing in caves which were formed 400 million years ago. You lucky children.
Looks like you have had a great time at the caverns, I look forward to hearing all about it Aiden x
Enjoy the rest of the trip x
