Classes 1 and 5 in the Woods

Today, classes 1 and 5 had a joint day out at Burford Woods. This morning we searched the forest carefully for attractive or unusual things to put on our crowns.  Then we built dens and some of us had lunch in them.  Others had lunch around the campfire.  In the afternoon we all made forest friends out of mud and and anything else we could find to use.  Finally we had a song around the campfire before setting off for home.  The children all worked splendidly together and we all had a great day.  Hope they all sleep well.  I will!

  1. What a fantastic time we all had in the woods, it was brilliant to see great support and care shown towards Class 1 and each other!! This is the great place for kids to enjoy the outdoors and at the same time learning how to stay safe.

  2. I like your crown Queen Elizabeth! The faces look brilliant. That explains the grey stuff under your nails then!

  3. Thank you for helping us. We loved working with you class 5.
Ashton, Charlie, Brandon, Thomas, Ethan, Alfie, Aiden, Archie and Keaton loved building the dens and making the crowns. The bonfire was great and very very hot.
    Please can we go again.

  4. Well Done Class 1 & 5 for working so well together. What a fun adventure for Class 1 exploring, making dens and finding decorations for your crowns. There were some very characteristic mud faces left on trees so if you were to go down in the woods today you are sure of a big surprise!

  5. Thank you class 1 for coming with us to the woods. We hope you enjoyed working with class 5.

Class 5: I am really proud of the way you worked so well with the younger children. They loved having you there to help them explore the forest and make the crowns and faces with them. What was your favourite part of the day?
