Handball with Budehaven

Ashmansworthy class are learning how to play handball with Aym, a coach from Budehaven College. Handball is a bit like basketball, but with smaller balls. Instead of basket hoops, goals are scored by throwing the ball into a goal similar to a football net.

Handball is very popular in Europe where 19 million people play it. It is the second most popular sport after football. Aym taught the children how to dribble and pass. After practising these skills they got into teams and had some short games. They will be having handball lessons once a week this half term as well as having the opportunity to take part in an after school club.
