So Proud!

Alminstone Class excelled themselves to today’s Bideford Schools Singing Festival which was held at Bideford College. Singing “No Wars Will Stop Us Singing”, they rose to the challenge and were a credit to our school. Well done, everyone… we were very, very proud of your commitment, behaviour and musical ability.

They also sang two specially-composed Sea Shanties along with 320 other children ranging from Year 3 to Year 11. And if that wasn’t impressive enough they rounded off the evening with the Handel choral classic “Zadok The Priest”.

Thanks to Debbie Kent from Babcock Music Service and Adrian Scarrett from St Mary’s Primary for organising this event!

If you saw the concert and would like to congratulate the children too, please leave a comment and we’ll share it with the children (please remember our first names only rule) Thanks

  1. Congratulations on your performance Woolsery! It is an absolute pleasure for me to work with such impeccably behaved young people. I was pleased to see such a wide variety of individual school performances this year. Your ‘composer in residence’ was extremely impressed by the standard of combined singing and he loved the interpretations of his sea shanties . . . he has composed/arranged a very special hornpipe just for you :)

  2. Well done Woolsery – a really suitable piece within the children’s range, just how children’s singing should be!!!
