Ashmansworthy Update

Ashmansworthy class have been working very hard on their topic work this week. They have finished their final piece of diary writing based on the text “My Secret War Diary by Flossie Albright”. The content and presentation of their writing is outstanding and the children are looking forward to showing you next Friday afternoon when we have our VE Day party (Letters to follow!) Speaking of parties, we have been planning what to eat and wear next Friday by researching VE Day celebrations on the internet. We have also been practising wartime songs ready for a sing-a-long. Our topic is now focussing on how the war affected farms and people who lived in the country, and we are hoping to invite some visitors who will talk to us about farming during the war and how it has changed since the 1940s.
