Snow in Forest School!
Posted on April 26, 2016 | By skersey
Stroxworthy started their summer term with snow and a hail storm followed by sunshine…..
For science we are looking at rocks and soil formation. After some games to warm up (after the flurries of snow!!!) we split into teams to search for worms to make a wormery plus another team set the wormery up. We found 26 worms; all sizes and varied in colour.
Then we undertook an investigation into being a geologist…… Could we extract minerals from rocks without damaging the rocks? Stroxworthy attempted this challenge using chocolate chip cookies and cocktail sticks. Ask the children what they discovered!
Thank you to Emma for helping us search for so many worms…..
