Lighthouse keeper’s lunch picnic

Today we had a picnic to try and bring to life the book ‘The lighthouse keeper’s lunch’.
We made lots of sandwiches and lighthouse biscuits in the morning. Took them too the staffroom (Mrs Grinling’s kitchen). Then made a pulley system right down to the playground where the lighthouse was. It was tricky, we had to watch out for the seagulls.
We were finally ready and ….
Mrs Grinling arrived.
Arthur worked the pulley system and got the sandwiches, biscuits and cakes delivered safely to the lighthouse for us all to enjoy a picnic.
Watch out for the seagulls. They were very hungry today.
Enjoying a cake after some hard work in the sun.
Thank you everyone!
