Learning about Evolution-The Battle of the Beaks!

Ashmansworthy Class have been learning about evolution. To help us understand how animals adapt and evolve we did an experiment called “The Battle of the Beaks”. Each child had a different “beak” and had to collect various food, recording the number of each type they collected. We then discussed how beak shape and the behaviour of the bird would enable the bird to survive or not. The beaks we had were tweezers, tongs, scissors, pegs and glue spreaders. The food we had were marshmallows, pasta, paper clips, marbles, seeds and cocktail sticks. Which beak do you think was the best?
