This week in Ashmansworthy Class

We have been working very hard this week in English, maths and topic work. We are continuing our Cracking Contraption work in and have invented a stress relieving Techno-Chair for overworked teachers. We will be writing an explanation and description about them next week.

In maths we have been practising mental strategies to add and subtract and today we have been doing some Aztec maths using a base 20 system. In science we have been learning about solids, liquids and gases and making posters to explain their properties.

Mr Cole is linking our Aztec topic to the activities in Forest School. Last week the children made Aztec jewellery from elder sticks and leaves, and the children have made special forest school books to document their learning. This week, the children have begun their main project- making pan pipes.
