RHS Rosemoor – Making paper

Today, we visited Rosemoor and enjoyed a workshop of making paper. First done 2000 years ago by the Chinese, we tried to replicate their methods. Working in teams of 3 and 4, we collected pulp and used a range of processes to create recycled paper. The paper will dry out in the classrooms for the next 24 hours then it will be ready to use. In the afternoon we explored Rosemoor and went on a trail to discover different plants, trees and objects around the grounds and found a little time to play in the ‘Brash’ play area. img_9141

  1. All the children really enjoyed their day and learnt a lot about the history of paper and the paper-making process. I didn’t know you could make paper out of chocolate plants and elephant dung!
