We continued our fire-making skills in Forest School today by heating water to make Aztec hot chocolate. We mixed the hot water with grated chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and honey with milk in a jug and shared it out in the group. Did you know, the Aztecs invented a chocolate drink called cacoa made from dried and ground cocoa beans? Chocolate, as we know it, was developed in Victorian times by adding fat and milk to the cocoa.
I very much enjoyed that.We only put in 2 spoons of the mixture for 8 of us:-)
I’m glad you liked it. Do you think it would have tasted better if you’d put more chocolate in?
I really enjoyed the Aztec hot chocolate especially with cinnamon and nutmeg. I hope we will make more in the future! Best wishes Joseph:-]
