Maths in the outdoors

Ashmansworthy class carried out an investigation to answer the questions “Do longer leaves have a greater surface area?”

After planning how they were going to carry out their investigation, the children collected leaves and measured their length and area.

Next we will plot the data onto a scatter gram to see whether their is a correlation between length and area.

What do you think is the best way to measure the area of a leaf?
