Friction Firelighting in Forest School

Ashmansworthy class were shipwrecked on a desert island. All they had to survive was a fire steel, afew basic tools and some cotton wool they rescued from the first aid kit. Thankfully they found a stream with freshwater, but they could’t drink it unless they boiled it to get rid of the deadly bacteria. Will they be able to get a fire going?
