I had a great day at the river, going to all the activities in my group. I had fun catching the minibeasts, seeing the nearly ox-bow lake and sending oranges down the river. Some of the minibeasts l found were a bloodworm lots and lots of shrimp.
I had a great time going to the Common Lake Stream, we had a range of activities to complete such as measuring the depth of the river as well as how fast the water was flowing. We also went fishing for minibeasts using small nets and plastic containers. Since there hasn’t been much rainfall recently our results shown that the river was on average travelling 0.15 meters per second some groups got different results due to the river speeding up or slowing down. The highlights of the day were seeing the duck weed surrounded island and having ice creams! I hope to be going again very soon!
I had a great time. My favourite activity was measuring the speed of the river. I also liked having the ice cream and playing in the park for a bit.
