Indian Fires

Today in Forest School we learnt how to build a highly controllable cooking fire called an Indian fire.
By placing the fire underground in a hole, and adding a U-shaped air hole, the intensity of the fire can be controlled by raising or lowering the sheet which pushes air through the U-shape or not.
The field was very very hard to dig!
Alminstone Class dropped over from their PE lesson to see what we were up to!
That looks awesome! I never knew you could make a fire in a hole! Blue and Miss Butler
