Community Magistrates’ Visit

On Tuesday, Ashmansworthy class had a visit from Marilyn Gagg and Kim Baker, two community magistrates who work in Barnstaple Magistrates’ Court and Exeter Crown Court. The children learnt all about their role in the justice system, the decisions they have to make when sentencing criminals and also what sort of crimes they have to deal with. The children really enjoyed their visit and had lots of questions about what they do, and crime and justice in general. They finished the session off with a quiz which resulted in four winners. What brilliant listening!
