Ilfracombe trip

Today, Alminstone class visited Ilfracombe in the beautiful sunshine.  We started the day by climbing Capstone Hill and enjoying the view out to sea and back to Ilfracombe.  Next, we explored the interactive museum where we tried morse code, typing on a typewriter and looking at drawers and drawers of incredible creatures, such as butterflies and tarantulas as well as learning about smugglers.  After a lunch break in the museum gardens, we walked along to the harbour where we visited the aquarium, seeing lobsters, crabs, sole, minnows, a shark and different rays.  Finally, we met the infamous Verity, along with Trevor the cormorant and finally up to the lighthouse.  The children were fantastically behaved and had great fun.
