Down Syndrome Awareness Day

We made sock puppets to help us learn about Down syndrome. They were all different and unique. Just like us. We are all special. We have displayed them in the church. Please go and look.

We then tried a few activities to help us realise what life is like for Molly. The children notice that when we write, molly always scribbles. We told them about molly’s muscles and how she finds it difficult. They now understand and help her. We tried to write with gardening gloves. It was difficult!

The children also find it difficult to understand Molly. This time we used marshmallows to explain why we sometimes don’t understand her. They are encouraging her to play so much more now.

A fantastic day! Amazing learning!
