Butterfly Life Cycle

In understanding the world, we are learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We are developing the understanding of growth and changes over time and can order pictures correctly to show the life cycle.

Look what’s happening to our caterpillars !
To develop our fine motor skills we had fun threading pasta to make caterpillar necklaces.
We enjoyed the challenge of making long caterpillars by ordering numerals to twenty.
In expressive arts we have been making binoculars to go bug hunting.
To help develop our pencil grip, we used tweezers to catch magnetic balls to create caterpillars.

In mathematics we are learning the language of size.
“This is the tallest tower”
We ordered the teddy bears’ picnic in order of
size; big, medium and small
