Ashmansworthy’s Trip to Burford Woods.

It was a great pleasure to be able to take Ashmansworthy Class to Burford Woods just before the end of half term. The aim of our Forest School sessions is to provide a child-centred, inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth and individual personal development. The philosophy being that the ideas and skills learnt outdoors can be brought into the classroom environment. Forest School encourages and develops confidence, self-esteem and resilience, all of which are essential skills for life.

We had a fantastic day at Burford woods. We made dens, toasted marshmallows, made bread which we cooked on the fire, and some children even toasted parts of their lunch. The children thoroughly enjoyed making rope swings and being able to play and have lots of fun. It was great to see the children develop their communication skills, their cooperation, and just relaxing in the moment.
