Burford Woods Survival Day

Our English learning is based on a book called the Jungle Survival Handbook, so today Alminstone went to Burford Woods to experience what it would be like to survive in the wild.  We were faced with a number of challenges to survive in the wild.  First we needed to work together to build a shelter.  Then we tried to solve the problem of filtering dirty water.  This was followed by trying to start a fire using flint and steel and finally making spears to hunt the wild balloons in the woods!  Luckily, we found some marshmallows and biscuits in the woods so were able to make some s’mores to enjoy.  We all had an amazing time, but think it would be extremely difficult to survive in the wild.
