Red Nose Day Fun

Thank you to everyone who has supported today’s Red Nose Day – it’s a brilliant cause which helps children all over the UK and an event our children can (and do!!) get stuck in to. Teachers will be posting photos on their class Blogs so please look out for their records of the day! The Blog can be found at https://woolseryprimaryschool.edublogs.org/ – just click on your school and find your child’s class to see their Posts.

Open Afternoons

We are planning to hold Open Afternoons across the three schools on Friday 24th March, which is next Friday. You are very welcome to come into school and look at your children’s books, listen to what they’ve been learning and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. This invite extends to the wider community too, so if there’s anyone you know who would like to look around their village school, please pass on the invite to them. Please see advertising in your own school about timings as these vary slightly across the Partnership. Thank you.

Next Wednesday afternoon, the Enterprise Team from School Voice in Buckland Brewer and Woolsery will be travelling in the Partnership minibus to visit Asda, Bideford to do a bit of research about the types of products they could sell in their weekly Tasty Tuck sessions. This will be a great opportunity for the children to understand a bit more about the nutritional choices we need to make when selecting products to sell, and also further their knowledge of profit and loss when all items sell for 50p.

Indoor Athletics Final and Online Gymnastics

Good luck to the 12 Y6 children from Woolsery who are taking part in the Indoor Athletics Final at Bideford College on Tuesday!

We have also heard that the children from all three schools who progressed in the Online Gymnastics competition will now be able to take part in their Final after the Easter holidays when the organisers will set a new date. You’ve not been forgotten!

Exmoor Zoo Visit

Melbury Class (Parkham) and Tythecott Class (Buckland Brewer) had a wonderful day at Exmoor Zoo on Tuesday. Weather-wise, their trip was timed to perfection as it was the only dry day of the week! Well done to all of the chidlren for excellent behaviour and fabulous enthusiasm to see the animals and learn all about them. A huge thank you to parents and staff who made the trip possible.

Rosemoor Trip

We continued our close working with RHS Rosemoor in Torrington this week when Stroxworthy and Alminstone Classes visited to find out more about seeds and plant growth. The chidlren used the wonderful education centre at the Gardens and spent lots of time exploring the gardens. Thank you to parents and governors who came along on the trip, we couldn’t have done it without you!

FOPS News

FOPS have a coffee morning coming up on Wednesday 29th March in the Allardice Hall. Please support it if you can – details can be found on FOPS’ Facebook Page here: https://facebook.com/events/s/fops-coffee-morning/952452845754377/

FOWS

We have more tables available for the Table Top Sale on April 23rd.
Think of it as an indoor Car Boot Sale: no need to plan for bad weather; just pack up what you want to sell, set up alongside friends (share a table?), enjoy tea and cake while you sell, enter the raffle for a chance to win some great prizes and support your school at the same time!  Or maybe you are a local maker, grower or artist and want to sell your wares. Either way, message FOWS on: helloteamwoolley@outlook.com to reserve a table (£10).
Raffle prizes are also most welcome. So far we have a £50 voucher for The Farmer’s Arms, Exmoor Zoo tickets and a Honey’s meat voucher.
