Whilst on the farming theme the children have shown a keen interest in eggs and therefore have created their own marble painted eggs. The children had to think about who had laid their egg; we had chicken, dinosaur and crocodile eggs. We have been hunting for material to make nests for our eggs.

Goodbye Flowers

This afternoon we said goodbye to our ‘flowers’ who are leaving us by presenting them with a personalized Certificate and a small Sunflowers Bear. Thank you to FOWS who kindly purchased the Bears. The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

We enjoyed cooking chocolate, crispy cakes and making jam sandwiches for our picnic with Cranford Class. The food was lowered in a basket on a pulley from Mrs Grinling’s house (staff room window) to the lighthouse in the school playground. There were lots of hungry seagulls trying to take our picnic!

This week we have spent carpet time listening to and discussing this story. We enjoyed looking at pictures of different lighthouses and painted our own lovely red & white, striped lighthouses. We have also been junk modelling. Look out for our super flock of seagulls in Sunflowers!

Our ‘flowers’ have letters and sounds every morning. This week Toni dressed up as Grandma! She looked funny but it was great learning how to blend and segment the items she found in her basket! It’s fun bubble painting. We are all looking forward to our water play on Friday!
