Human machines

We looked at strategies for working on a collaborative task.  We role played as human machines.  Can you guess some of the things we did?   (Make a cup of tea, with milk, wash and smooth some bed sheets, toast some bread, spread it with butter and cut into pieces, to name a few)  

Ashmansworthy Forest School

Ashmansworthy enjoyed the first Forest School session of the term. We focused on working together to solve problems creatively, but we also helped with transplanting strawberries, lopping and hedge laying. We loved the mud kitchen!

Year 6 leavers meal at Merry Harriers

What a delight the children were and so well behaved!  We had lovely food and finally got our leavers book, which made us all emotional.  Thank you to all the parents who transported us there xx

Somerset vs Yorkshire

Buckland Brewer and Woolsery schools are in Taunton watching Day 2 of Somerset vs Yorkshire. While play was suspended due to rain, we met the mascot, toured the museum and tested are throwing accuracy. In between play, we managed to get a few autographs from the players.

Ashmansworthy Science Week

Ashmansworthy have enjoyed investigating science issues that interest them, to create boards of information to share with the school.  Some of us shared our experiments with the class……. deadline is tomorrow to complete them.

Burford Woods

Ashmansworthy class enjoyed Burford Woods today.  From den building to orienteering, to cooking to mud masks.  We had so much fun!

PCSO Liz Rendle visits Ashmansworthy

Our local PCSO Liz came into the classroom this afternoon to chat about keeping safe and the consequences of our actions may cause problems for our future careers. The children had a very animated question and answer session.

Football Tournament at Hartland

After school, we entered three teams to play in a football tournament at Hartland Primary School. With five teams altogether, each team played 4 matches. All the teams played really well, with some excellent goalkeeping, defending, shooting and great goals. A huge congratulations to our green team who were the winners. Well done.  

Tri Golf for Ashmansworthy class

Today the children looked at different scenarios and discussed how some people would feel, how people could react in a negative way and how people could react in a psotive way. The children had very in depth converstaions about the different scenarios. ◊

Friction investigation

Ashmansworthy class using past knowledge of forces, to investigate friction and different surfaces.  We checked our results 3 times and took an average to make it a fair test and made our conclusions over our findings.

How do you feel?

Asmansworhy class discussed a wide variety of feelings and discussed their meaning.  We then thoroughly enjoyed a game of feelings bingo in pairs.  Ask who won……
