Making the monster and some beautiful birds

This afternoon in Alminstone, we had two activities developing our design and technology skills. Firstly, we were making the monsters that we wrote about in our myths and legends. Using wire, we made a skeleton to support the monster and give it greater strength. Then using different coloured plasticine we moulded the monster and its features. These will be used later in the term when we create stop go animations of our myths and legends. The second activity was learning sewing skills to make birds for a class display. Using a range of material and our new found skill of under stitch, we sewed the material together and stuffed it to create our birds.
