Goodbye from Bude!

We had an amazing week at Adventure Bude. We were so proud of the way that all the children coped with being away from home, following complicated instructions and organising themselves so that they were always ready for activities. Everyone was keen to take part in the new experiences on offer and demonstrated resilience and […]

Kayaking at Bude

We took another trip on the canal for our final activity. Kayaks are harder to steer than canoes!

Surfing at Bude

The waves were perfect for surfing on our final morning!

Climbing @ Bude

Clambering climbing this afternoon!!!

High Ropes @ Bude

It rained this morning but we had a whale of a time on the high ropes course.

Bude town trail

We had a leisurely walk round Bude, looking for clues and finding out facts. The views from the cliffs were stunning.

Canoeing at Bude

What a lovely way to spend a morning, canoeing on the canal – it certainly beats SATs revision!

Free time at Bude

It’s been great to spend time with friends across the partnership. The karaoke competition was fun and lots of us enjoyed dressing up for the fancy dress disco. We were proud of those that entered the talent show and we also enjoyed spending time in our rooms and listening to a bedtime story and playing […]

Team trail at Bude

We loved working in a team to solve different problems and to keep our balloon babies alive!

Bodyboarding at Bude

The rain cleared away just in time for a morning on the beach. Great waves!

Caving at Bude

It was a hot and sticky afternoon in the caves! We were really proud of everyone’s determination to get to the end of the tunnels.

Mountain boarding at Bude

We arrived safely, quickly found out our rooms and groups and headed for our first activity – mountain boarding! There were a few dramatic falls but it was great fun!

Legoland

We’re completely exhausted after a wonderful day at Legoland!  It was very quiet in the Park today so we could go on lots of rides. We also joined in with the national Two Minutes Silence for VE Day at noon.

London Eye and Matilda

We had a great flight on the London Eye… Matilda was absolutely amazing and we found the performances of the children, who are the same age as us, completely inspiring. (The adult cast were pretty good too…)

River Cruise and Downing Street

The river cruise today was really interesting (the commentary was very funny) Afterwards, we had a surprise because we got last minute authorisation to go down to Downing St and have photos taken on the steps. Whilst we were there, the Home Secretary arrived for a meeting.

We Saw The King!

We had a really interesting tour of Parliament this morning and a great workshop to understand more about how Parliament works… And then, whilst we were walking towards the river cruise jetty, we saw the King and Queen who were riding to Westminster Abbey. Very exciting!

Evening Walk around London

It was a lovely evening for a walking sightseeing tour of central London. From Hard Rock Cafe on Park Lane, we headed across to the Wellington Arch, then down through Green Park to Buckingham Palace. At Buckingham Palace, the King was there because the Royal Standard was flying. We also saw the guards and lots […]

Hard Rock Cafe

The food at Hard Rock Cafe was amazing. We’re now off to see the VE Day 80 decorations around Buckingham Palace and The Mall.

Lunch at Reading

We decided to get further along the M4 before lunch, and stopped at Reading for a picnic in the sun. (The one not photographed didn’t want his photo taken… he IS with us!)

Invent a fish

Yesterday’s workshop was all about inventing our own animal that lives in the sea. We decided on its habitat, defences, diet, how it hunts and its senses. Here are some of our creations. Please ask your children to explain them to you so you can out what they have learned. I think you’ll agree there […]
