Bude Wednesday morning

The weather was chilly but dry this morning – perfect conditions for AA to try their hands at canoeing and for DD to tackle bouldering the climbing wall. Fantastic determination was shown by all!

Bude Wednesday afternoon

Group DD continued climbing this afternoon, but this time on the high ropes. Group AA enjoyed their windy walk around Bude, following directions and looking for hidden clues.

Free time at Bude

In between the adventurous activities, everyone has enjoyed hanging out with friends, playing games and getting into fancy dress!

Bude Tuesday afternoon

More fun was had this afternoon. While AA tackled the team trail, DD loved canoeing along the canal, dodging nesting swans and paddle-boarders and showing some great collaboration.

Bude Tuesday morning

The sun continued to shine this morning – we’ve been lucky so far! After a quick swim or run to wake ourselves up (quite necessary for some), DD went for a walk around Bude and AA headed to the beach for body-boarding.

Bude Monday afternoon

The sun continued to shine as AA headed into the caves and DD enjoyed bodyboarding. There were some super waves!

Bude Monday morning

As soon as we arrived this morning, we were whisked off to meet our instructors for the week and to start our first activities. Group AA enjoyed mountain boarding and Group DD went straight on the team trail.

Parliament and Horseguards

We hadn’t expected to be able to go into the chambers of the House of Commons or House of Lords because we thought both Houses would be sitting which would have meant viewing from the public galleries. However, Parliament was prorogued on the morning of our visit. This means it was the “end of term” […]

The London Eye

We split into two groups for the London Eye – here are some of the photos of the amazing views. We could see Wembley Stadium in the north of London and Alexandra Palace and Crystal Palace TV masts to the south.

Pizza Hut and Matilda

Pizza hut in Leicester Square this evening had a surprise bonus: the Odeon was staging the Premiere of Billie Eilish’s  movie so the crowds were huge and there was a real buzz of excitement. The event security also helped us in and out of Pizza Hut through the crowds, so we felt a bit like […]

Legoland

We had a brilliant time at Legoland today. Sadly the flume was closed but we went on lots of other rides: Ninjago, Sprinning Spiders, Jolly Rocket, The Dragon rollercoaster, Coastguard HQ, Deep Sea Adventure Submarines and  Minifigure Speedway rollercoaster.

London Walking Tour

It’s been a lovely evening in London. There aren’t too many people around so we were able to move around quite easily, from the Wellington Arch to Buckingham Palace, then to St James’ Park and Trafalgar Square. Finally on the way back we crossed Tower Bridge which was lit up beautifully, along with the Tower […]

London Residential Day 1

We’ve had a brilliant first day of our Y5 Residential. The journey up to London was really smooth and we arrived at the Youth Hostel in good time. As soon as we’d checked into the Youth Hostel, we were on the road again, heading for our evening meal at Hard Rock Cafe at Hyde Park […]

Lunch time

A lovely lunch in Frankie and Benny’s to end our super trip.

Inventafish Workshop

This morning we had our final workshop. We explored different animal parts and tried to work out what animal they came from. Then we explored some marine life in virtual reality. Finally, the children worked together to create their own animal. They had to think about its habitat, diet, how it breathes, protects itself, how […]
