FOWS news

I am really pleased to say we had a good turnout of parents for the meeting about the future of the Friends of Woolsery School on Monday. FOWS received many new offers of support and this has given us the confidence that a new committee will be able to be elected when the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) is held. This will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 27th February in the school. Assuming a new Committee takes office at that point, the work of FOWS will continue from that point. Thank you, everyone for your support.

Late Children

Please remember that, if your child is late in school for whatever reason, it’s important that you sign them in at your school office. This is really important so that the Registers are updated and we know who is on site. Please do not take your child to their classroom yourself but hand them over to a member of staff who will then take your child to their classroom for you. Thank you.

You may remember that one of the charitable activities our children commit to each year is supporting the work of Edukid. Edukid is a global charity which is based in Bideford, working in several locations around the globe to facilitate education for children in very poor countries. Village Schools Partnership currently sponsors two children in Cambodia and in Uganda, with the responsibilty for raising the money to pay for their education lying with School Voice.

On 9th February, the Global Voice team at Woolsery will be running a Break The Rules Day, whereby children will be allowed to break any of three specific school rules for a donation of 50p per rule. Details of which rules which can be broken on 9th February will be in next week’s Newsletter so please look out for further information then… Thank you for your support.

Computing Questionnaire – final call

If you haven’t yet compelted the Parent Questionnaire for Mr Marks, please could you do so as soon as possible? This will help Mr Marks, who leads computing across the three schools, to plan online safety information for you later in the term.
