Gambia Day

Ashmansworthy Class enjoyed learning about The Gambia on Friday. After an introduction from Mrs Dauber and Tony Rea, the children researched various aspects of Gambian culture and produced a poster to present in assembly at the end of the day. We also enjoyed trying a traditional Gambian dessert made from cous cous and evaporated milk with pineapple and cinnamon. It tasted a lot like rice pudding. A lunchtime Mr Cole ran a djembe drumming workshop on the field and in the afternoon Sunflowers and Cranford performed a Gambian dance. It was a lovely day and we all enjoyed finding out about what life in is like in The Gambia.
