Yesterday in science, we investigated another property of everyday materials – magnetism . We explored which objects are magnetic around the classroom and discovered that only metal objects can be magnetic. But not all metals were magnetic. We found that Nickel, iron and steel were three metals that were magnetic.

Catapults and levers

Today in science we investigated have levers and pulleys work. We made some catapults and then had to work out how to modify the design with regard to the fulcrum and the load to allow the catapult to fire a greater distance. It was great fun.

In science this week, we learnt about water resistance. We investigated how a variety of shapes would sink at different rates. We had fun having a tea party at the water tray using different size cups and dishes. We are good at using the language of size; large, medium and small. We are good at retelling the story using the masks and using our imagination to act out the storyline.

Our second set of sessions at ARC focused on pickleball. We really enjoyed learning this new sport and some of us found it easier than tennis. We even managed to get to 38 in a rally!
