Ashmansworthy and Alminstone Art 8/2/23

Our two classes joined together to learn about batik, to investigate different types of wax resist techniques, and to practise repeating patterns. We also tried using a flour and water paste with paint but it was quite tricky to control the paste! We are looking forward to trying some batik later this term.

Ashmansworthy Forest School 2/2/23

Some fantastic collaborative problem-solving took place in Forest School today. The soup and damper bread were delicious too!

Ashmansworthy swimming 10.2.22

On Friday Ashmansworthy class continued to work on particular strokes, their breathing and stroke techniques during the lesson. Each and every child is continually pushing/challenging themselves. They thoroughly enjoyed the sinking toys, which pushed some children out of their comfort zone of going under water to retrieve them. Well done everyone for another suberb lesson.

Den building and cooking 02/02

We were very busy today building dens, chopping and cooking soup and damper bread we then finished with chocolate cake in oranges baked on the fire. It was great to see the collaboration and teamwork and the end results of their hard work.

Ashmansworthy Swimming

Ashmansworthy had a great swimming session on Friday.  Thankfully the coach turned up at the right time this week.  The children were assessed at their swimming and then placed into groups that they will work in until Easter.

Swimming

Despite a hick up with transport Ashmansworthy class had a great first swimming lesson at Torridge pool. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and had lots of fun in the pool.
