KS2 visit from RNLI – meet the lifeguards

Today we were joined by lifeguards from the RNLI. They helped us to explore and understand water safety. We learned how the lifeguards help those in trouble in the water and what we should do in an emergency.  

Continuous Cricket

Yesterday, Alminstone class continued learning about striking and fielding skills. They practised throwing, catching, running with the bat, as well as bowling and batting. They then used these skills to play continuous cricket.

Real dance

This week for our dance lesson we looked at partner work, which included lifts and leans. The children worked together safely to then incorporate these moves into their dances. They also included circles, turns, jumps, different levels and silk like moves (we have been working on these moves for the past few weeks.)

Ashmansworthy and Alminstone Art 8/2/23

Our two classes joined together to learn about batik, to investigate different types of wax resist techniques, and to practise repeating patterns. We also tried using a flour and water paste with paint but it was quite tricky to control the paste! We are looking forward to trying some batik later this term.
