Thank you to all our guests today who came to our VE Day party in Ashmansworthy Class. Ashmansworthy class have been using mixed media to produce World War II propaganda posters. This morning the children were working as detectives. They were asked to use evidence from ‘Eddy’s Blog’ and the ‘Evacuees’ Reunion 1995′ booklet to answer questions about how evacuation affected rural life in Woolsery. They found out what the children did when they weren’t at school and whether this was a help or a hinderance […]

We have been using the poem ‘The Evacuee’s Farewell’ to help us find evidence about the impact of evacuation on rural life. The poem was written by Mrs Clutterbuck who stayed in Woolsery with her two children during WW2. The poem is on display in the school foyer if you would like to read it. […]

Posted on October 9, 2015 | By skersey
We compared differences and similarities between the two artists, Pablo Picasso and Doug Hyde. Both use a lot of colours but one makes us happy and the other sad. Is the anything else we notice?
